DAY 1, Fri Depart USA to begin your tour of Spain. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey
DAY 2, Sat Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. In the evening, a welcome drink and orientation: MADRID
DAY 3, Sun Morning sightseeing tour of Madrid. Drive along the Grand Via through the Opera District, Plaza de Colon, and view the Royal Palace. Pass through Puerto del Sol Plaza and Plaza España with its monument to Cervantes. The tour will end at the Prado Museum, where you will have the opportunity to view unity to view works of art by famous artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, and Ribera. Afternoon at leisure (B): MADRID
DAY 4, Mon Cross the rugged Sierra de Guadarrama to Segovia, famous for its Alcazar and the 2000-year-old Roman Aqueduct. Continue to the walled and turreted city of Avila, where St. Theresa founded the order of the Carmelites. Drive to Salamanca, for an orientation tour and visit the Baroque Plaza Mayor (B, D): SALAMANCA
DAY 5, Tues Depart for Portugal, via the Serra da Estrela mountain range. Drive towards Castelo Branco before arriving at Fatima, site of the famous religious miracles, and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. Continue to Lisbon, capital of Portugal (B): LISBON
DAY 6, Wed Morning tour of Lisbon. View the Belem Tower and visit Jeronimos Monastery with the Tomb of Vasco da Gama. Walk through the cobbled alleys of Alfama, the seaman's quarter. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure or an optional tour that includes a visit to the Queluz Palace en route to Sintra, the picturesque resort town located on wooded heights ($45) (B): LISBON
DAY 7, Thurs Cross the border to Spain at Rosal de la Frontera and continue to the picturesque Andalucian town of Aracena before reaching Seville. Balance of the day is at leisure (B, D): SEVILLE
DAY 8, Fri This morning, view the Moorish architecture of the Giralda Tower and visit the Cathedral, the world's largest Gothic monument. Drive to the Plaza de Espana, passing Maria Luisa Park, and explore the narrow streets and the many plazas of the Santa Cruz Quarter. Afternoon at leisure to tour Seville on your own. This evening, enjoy an optional flamenco show ($35 ) (B): SEVILLE
DAY 9, Sat This morning, depart for Cordoba, founded by the Romans. Visit the Mezquita, a former Moorish Mosque and today Cordoba's main Cathedral. Visit the Jewish Quarter and the medieval synagogue. In the afternoon, depart for the Costa del Sol (B): COSTA DEL SOL
DAY 10, Sun Today's sightseeing includes a full day tour to Morocco. Cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangiers and enjoy a guided tour of the city, including the colorful Grand Socco market. In the medina, view the Casbah and the Sultan's palace. Enjoy lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant with entertainment. Free time to explore the city independently before returning to Spain by ferry (B, L): COSTA DEL SOL
DAY 11, Mon Full day at leisure or choose our optional morning tour to Mijas. This beautiful village, with its narrow cobbled streets and white washed houses, offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean. It is also famous for its donkey taxis, local crafts of linen and wicker, and a small Chapel built into the rocks ($19). Balance of the day at leisure (B): COSTA DEL SOL
DAY 12, Tues Depart for Granada. Visit the famous Alhambra Palace founded in the 13th-century and originally comprised of houses, schools, baths, barracks, and gardens surrounded by seemingly impenetrable walls. View the Old Quarter, and stroll through the Water Gardens of the Generalife (B, D): GRANADA
DAY 13, Wed Drive north through the region of La Mancha, legendary home of Don Quixote. A stop in Consuegra provides a panoramic view of its famous windmill. Continue to Toledo, once the spiritual and intellectual center of Spain. Visit the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Tomé with the masterpiece painting by El Greco, and the Synagogue of Santa Maria La Blanca. Continue to Madrid (B): MADRID
DAY 14, Thurs Transfer to the airport for your flight to Barcelona. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure (B): BARCELONA
DAY 15, Fri This morning, tour Barcelona including a panoramic tour of the Harbour area, Montjuic, Plaza de España and Plaza de Catalunya. Enjoy a guided walk through the Gothic Quarter to visit the Catheral. Afternoon at leisure to explore the colorful markets of Las Ramblas (B): BARCELONA
DAY 16, Sat Full day at leisure to explore Barcelona independently. Visit one of the city's countless museums, or take an excursion to Montserrat or the nearby wine and Cava (Spanish Champagne) producing region (B): BARCELONA
