DAY 1, Fri Depart USA to Italy.
Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey
DAY 2, Sat
Arrive and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. Stroll through Venice's narrow roads and bridges. The city's 'main street' is the Grand Canal, which passes each district as it winds along the length of Venice from Santa Lucia to St. Mark's Square. Orientation meeting with your tour escort this evening: VENICE
DAY 3, Sun
Today begins with a boat tour to the Island of Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Continue to St. Mark's Square to begin a walking tour of romantic Venice. Visit the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Doges' Palace. The balance of the day is at leisure to continue to explore Venice on your own and perhaps take an optional gondola ride with music ($44) (B): VENICE
DAY 4, Mon
Depart for Florence via Padua to visit the Basilica of St. Anthony and Pisa to view the famous Piazza del Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and Duomo (B, D): FLORENCE
DAY 5, Tues
Enjoy a spectacular view of Florence from Michelangelo Square before reaching the Accademia, where Michelangelo's David is housed. Walk to the Duomo and Baptistery to view the "Gates of Paradise." Continue to Signoria Square and Ponte Vecchio, the "Old Bridge." Afternoon at leisure in Florence or enjoy an optional guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery ($42). This evening, enjoy an optional dinner at a popular Tuscan restaurant, featuring the tastes and sounds of the region in a hillside setting outside the main city ($55) (B): FLORENCE
DAY 6, Wed
Full day at leisure or enjoy an optional tour to Siena. Tour the Cathedral, Campo Square and St. Dominic's Church before visiting a local estate to sample famous Chianti wines ($65) (B): FLORENCE
DAY 7, Thurs
Travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany to Assisi to visit the Basilica of St. Francis before continuing to your hotel in Rome (B, D): ROME
DAY 8, Fri
Today you will visit the Vatican, its breathtaking museum and Sistine Chapel. Walk through St. Peter's Square and visit St. Peter's Basilica. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Tonight we suggest an optional dinner in a typical Roman restaurant, complete with local wine and music, and followed by an illuminated tour of Rome by night ($65) (B): ROME
DAY 9, Sat
Morning at leisure in the Eternal City, or take an optional walking tour of the piazzas and fountains of Rome including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon ($39). This afternoon, a tour of "Ancient Rome" takes you to the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine. Your tour manager can offer suggestions on how to spend your final hours in Rome (B): ROME
